Monday Randomness

  • There are definitely dog people and cat people. I am a cat person. I do not understand dog people. Really. There is NO REASON your dog has to go places with you. If your pet is part of your social circle, you need to rethink what you're doing.
  • I'm trying to finish up projects. By that I mean giving away bits of beads and ends of yarn and even an almost-completely-but-not-quite-finished-and-no-way-would-it-fit-my-kid now-anyway sweater.
  • I finally found a new everyday lipstick. So pretty (it's more purple in real life):

  • The bottom rack on my 12 year old dishwasher is rusting in (a lot of) places, so I finally called Maytag to find out how much it would cost to replace it - $174 + tax + s&h. A new dishwasher? Starts at $299.
  • Just for fun, I have a friend's family portrait as my desktop picture. It cracks me up every time I open my computer.
  • I've been helping the girl with her homework instead of doing mine. Her homework is way more fun - science fair project! Revolutionary war time capsule! I wish I was doing that for school.
  • Time for dinner!

  1. Dog & cat people? I agree. I tried to be a dog person but it didn't work. We have the world's sweetest dog. But she grosses me out, just because she's a dog. I am such a cat person.

  2. I am a "no pets" person. I love animals. I just don't want them moving in with me.

  3. I'm a dog person but I'm constantly annoyed at how thoughtless and rude some dog owners can be. It just never occurs to these owners that there are people who not only aren't fond of dogs but might actually fear dogs. A little consideration would be nice.

  4. Julie - Wow, I can't imagine being a cat person and owning a dog. Don't you feel schizophrenic?

Kathy - I like your policy. As soon as the girl goes away to school, I am BACK to being a "no pets" person.

Irene - See, maybe it is a thoughtless pet thing. I just can't understand the bond.

  5. Heh heh, no I don't feel schizophrenic... but I do feel kinda guilty that I hate her.

Speaking of pets, you might like to know that the cat we had shaved? Is still looking pretty hilarious. He's feeling much better, though. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up having him shaved regularly.
