This is what ages you.

My daughter is 15.

My daughter is 15 and has been asked to prom by a boy.

My daughter is 15 and has been asked to prom by a boy we don't know.

My daughter is 15 and has been asked to prom by a boy we don't know because they go to boarding schools across the country from where we live.

My daughter is 15 and has been asked to prom by a boy we don't know because they go to boarding schools across the country from where we live and so the odds are good we aren't going to meet this young man.

My daughter is 15 and has been asked to prom by a boy she likes and so I bought her a yellow floor length empire-waist chiffon dress with tiny spaghetti straps and sparkly rhinestones across the belt.

My baby is 15.

  3. Whoa. Maybe a Skype interview of the boy, after a stringent review of his resume & photographic documentation of his upbringing submitted by his parents? Good luck.

I just recently aged 10 years because girls keep TALKING TO & VISITING my 14 year old boy. Harlots.

  4. Haha it is important that you don't Skype interview the boy... for your daughter's sake.

  5. Surely there's a blogger near your daughter's school that could follow this boy around and threaten him? Yes?

  6. OH man. I was TOTALLY boy crazy when I was 15. Luckily I was also very shy. Think of it this way: you're still young and hip enough to want to rock some awesome purple lipstick. There, now you're a cool mom.

  7. Wow. Just...wow. 15 huh? I am so not ready. I am giggling at floor length though. And it's interesting b/c my nephew was invited to prom two years ago. He was 16. My niece has been asked this year (she is now 16) and the answer from my sister has been an emphatic hell no.

  10. I have a feeling she will be a much better 15 year old than I was - she has you for a mommy. :)

Just found out I'm having a girl. Now I'm really really scared. And looking into convents.

    1. Hooray for you! The Serb threatened to buy a gun when we found out a girl was coming...instead, he just does a lot of push ups.

    2. Oh yay, Tonya!

Don't worry! She probably won't be a slut!

(But she may over-use exclamation points. Which...well...sheesh.)

  12. This is what happens, you know. My baby turned 18 last month. I told her not to but she didn't listen. Oh, and she's going on spring break where the drinking age is 18. Hold me.

    p.s. You're old.

  15. God, do I hear you.

I was just up in my 17 yr old son's room, looking around, thinking how it will be empty a year from now.

    Kill me now.

  17. Crazy. Mine is 16 and I'm amazed by it every day. Can you believe we've been moms for this long and survived?

  22. I could be your new baby. I never went to prom, so that probably means I was mentally stunted around age 13. Love me.
