Feeling Better Now

So, hey, guess what?

It turns out it was a good thing I went to the doctor last week because I found out I had:

A sinus infection
An ear infection
and
Bronchitis!

Hooray!

I really feel like I got my money's worth out of that doctor visit.

I also felt better about falling asleep at 9pm and struggling to wake up to go to work the next day.  Sure, it wasn't malaria or something glamorous, but it wasn't sheer laziness, either.  I'm not sure why I always feel like I have to justify being tired, but I do.  Like someone's going to call me out on needing rest or I'm not going to win a ninth consecutive Being Fully Rested on 8 Hours of Sleep award [I've already got a place for it on my trophy case].

Wow, this is almost as incoherent as -

You know what's fun? Carrot cake.  I mean, delicious.  Although if you want to have fun with your carrot cake, I'm not going to judge.  Each person should feel free to enjoy carrot cake however they choose. Except not with coconut.  What the fuck is wrong with you, sicko?

Anyway, carrot cake is delicious, and I like to tell myself that it's extremely healthy, what with all the extra shredded carrots I add.  My eyesight has never been better!  And I think it's important to have good eyesight, because otherwise people might trick you into doing weird stuff if you can't see clearly.  Doing weird stuff with your eyes wide open? Well, again, I'm no judge.

I thought steroids were supposed to make you more focused.  Why -

Oh, also? My leprosy finger is getting better.  I get eczema every couple of years, and this year it's eaten up my pointer finger.  Seriously.  It's shredded.  I did end up getting some cute bandages to shield my friends and family from the horror that is my finger. Because I am nothing if not caring.  And fashionable.

All in all, it's been a long-ass couple of weeks of illness. At least the weather has been pretty uniformly shitty, so I don't feel like I've been missing out on anything.

But now that I'm feeling better, Spring better get its act together and commence with the warming.  I'm not playing around.  I need a treat that isn't medicinal. Because keeping track of when I've taken what is not making the healing process any easier.  [Did you know I can type with my eyes closed? I CAN! I just typed this whoe  thing with my eyes closed, because I am stil fucking tired.@!]

There's better, more coherent posts coming. Well.  There will be more coherent posts, anyway.

XOXOXO

  1. Poor you!! I'm glad you went to the doctor - yes, you definitely got your money's worth.

Guess what I made for Easter? Carrot cake with cheesecake in the middle. And cream cheese buttercream. Tears may or may not have been shed.

Oh, and you wanna know about incoherence? Take two percocet and see how well your brain works afterward. The doctor was like "You can take two if one isn't cutting it". Uh, yeah, but I need to function...

  2. I type with my eyes closed all the time to freak out the oldest girl. She fears she'll never get to that point (um, you would if you gave a fuck about the keyboarding class you're failing where the teacher has said hand positioning is 50% of your grade JUST PUT YOUR DAMN HANDS WHERE THEY BELONG).

I'm glad you're feeling better even if you haven't shared your good drugs with me. Wench.

And coconut. Nasty shit. And also too, I don't know what the fuck 8 hours of sleep is.

  3. Mmmmmmmm, cream cheese frosting.

Glad you're feeling better. I'm not allowed to take days off - people constantly call/bug/email when i do, and the whole "trying to rest" thing seems to backfire on me. That said, I've been sleeping in until 6am the past couple of days and I'm as tired as fuck. Part of me wonders if I'm coming down with something, then I remember that only someone insane like me would think that 6am is "sleeping in".

  4. Who knew leprosy and carrot cake could make me laugh this hard?

    You did.
    Naturally.

Which is why I love you more than coconut.
This might also be because coconut is nasty shit.

  5. Jesus, what the hell is wrong with all you coconutists? *storms away angrily*.

Just kidding. Not about loving coconut and feeling like our relationship has been ever so slightly damaged by the fact that you don't, but, you know, the storming away part. My son has eczema (I just typed 'leprosy' by mistake) inside his right elbow but he doesn't believe me that it's just eczema. So I'm taking him to the doctor. Which is okay, because we're Canadian. :P

  6. Coherent posts are overrated, and coconut ruins everything.
